Open to participants from across the globe, you may encounter dolphins, elephants, orangutans, horn bills leaving you with a truly unforgettable life experience.


This introductory level online course is offered through International Field Studies, a nonprofit specializing in environmental education since 1970. All Rights Reserved. Classes will be held for 2 hours every Sunday from 1-3 pm EST. Daily when the group lands, they will set up camp, snorkel, practice kayak skills, learn about the ecology of the Caribbean… or just read and lay out.

Take a guided kayaking adventure IFS staff and For far's Sea Kayak instructor, Steve Harrington, through the diverse coastal environments of The  island chain! Sea Kayaking in the  Islands and camp on remote and pristine beaches. Working with local organizations to complete wildlife surveys and address human-wildlife conflict, you’ll get hands-on experience with surveying and mitigation techniques.  


We strive to ensure that our trips and programs promote responsible tourism, environmental education, and cultural awareness. This introductory level online course is offered through International Field Studies, a nonprofit specializing in environmental education since 1970. Spend 7-weeks learning online and join us for an immersive, field based experience at For far Field Station Bahamas June 4-11, 2022. Classes will be held for 2 hours every Sunday from 1-3 pm EST. The course has limited space to ensure students will have space to discuss the topics in the live, interactive lecture each week. The course will focus on marine ecosystems located on BS.


Live on beachfront property, study on the crystal clear Caribbean waters, and earn your Open and Advanced SCUBA certifications during a 6-week marine science program at For far Field Station, located on Bahamas. Students will partake in lecture based activities and land/sea excursions throughout the island as they explore the wonders of as it is home to the highest concentration of blue holes in the world and bordering the 3rd largest fringing barrier reef. Students will earn internationally recognized certifications, a certificate of completion, and career guidance.


Spend six weeks studying abroad in Borneo, Malaysia, a global biodiversity hots pot. Working with local organizations to complete wildlife surveys and address human-wildlife conflict, you’ll get hands-on experience with surveying and mitigation techniques. Open to participants from across the globe, you may encounter dolphins, elephants, orangutans, horn bills (just to name a few), leaving you with a truly unforgettable life experience.


Live on beachfront property,  study on the crystal clear Caribbean waters, and earn your Open and Advanced SCUBA certifications during a 6-week marine science program through the nonprofit, International Field Studies. For far Field Station, located on Bahamas, has been home to unique field study experiences for students since 1970 and IFS is thrilled to utilize the past 50 years of experience to support our very own program designed to give young adults a professional and academic experience of a lifetime.


Students will partake in lecture based activities and land/sea excursions throughout the island as they explore the wonders of as it is home to the highest concentration of blue holes in the world and bordering the 3rd largest fringing barrier reef. Students will earn internationally recognized certifications, a certificate of completion, and career guidance.
